Simple solutions to repair instead of replace
helping your pocketbook and the environment…
- Before tossing clothing that is no longer worthy of donation, quickly snip the buttons off and place them on a safety pin. This keeps them together and you are more likely to repair a blouse or shirt missing buttons if your supplies are handy. String extra buttons that are given as spares on clothing on safety pins for an easy storage solution.
- Keep clothing fresh smelling by putting bars of soap in your drawers. Rotate the bars of soap by using the older one in your shower. Unwrapping soap and storing for a couple of months dries the bars out and they last twice as long.
- I constantly lose my garden tools in flowerbeds. I remedied this problem by asking my children to paint the handles bright red for my birthday. The kids gave me a wonderful gift that got their creativity going and didn’t cost a bundle.
- Keep your sheet sets organized and intact by folding and placing inside a pillowcase. This saves space too. This idea comes from my 16-year-old daughter Ally!
